I Heart Boobies!

Hello guys! Sorry for the lack of posts recently! I am here to talk to you about breast. My breast, your breast, his breast, her breast.

Lets talk about breast.

And WHY should we talk about breast? Because its October, which means, its Breast Cancer Awareness Month! So get out your pink items, ribbions, and I Heart Boobies shirt, and start squeezin' those melons.

What? I am being serious. Its better to check yourself before you wreck yourself. Breast cancer is cancer that forms in the cells of the breasts. And there are tons of different type of it, but the most common one is where it forms in the milk ducts of your chest, and yes, men can get it too, though breast cancer is more common among females.

A good way to make sure you don't have it is to routinely check is to rub, squeeze, and feel your boob for any different shape or any possible abnormal lumps in the breast. You can do so where ever really, I suggest the shower or while you change clothes. And to also review the symptoms to yourself.

Signs and symptoms of breast cancer may include:
  • A breast lump or thickening that feels different from the surrounding tissue
  • Bloody discharge from the nipple
  • Change in the size or shape of a breast
  • Changes to the skin over the breast, such as dimpling
  • Inverted nipple
  • Peeling, scaling or flaking of the nipple or breast skin
  • Redness or pitting of the skin over your breast, like the skin of an orange
And if you worry you may have one or more of these symptoms then you should talk to your mom or someone close to you that is mature enough to handle it well. And the best way to see is to ask your doctor to help.

The cure for this cancer hasn't been found but many people have rid of breast cancer and live to tell the tale. Like my boyfriend's grandmother has had it three times and fought it each time like a champ. While it can possibly be deadly. And they say anyone can get it, men and women, and the chance increases with age. But don't worry, as long as you take care of your body and have a healthy diet, most likely you will be fine.

And to support breast cancer awareness you can do something from wearing pink to buying merchandise from many outlets of the Pink Ribbon Foundation to just donating time or money for the cause.

Even Stardoll is showing there Brest Cancer Awareness featuring the founder herself of the Susan G. Komen.

And there is a Pink Ribbon calender for October.

  2. I do believe the bracelets are in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

When my mother first contracted cancer, it was in her breasts. Doctors believed that it would be easy to fight. However, after they misdiagnosed my mom several times, they realized that it wasn't breast cancer, but a very rare cancer called Angiosarcoma. These tumors account for o.7% of cancer cases in the United States, which makes them very uncommon.

My mom fought for more than years years with this disease before she died. Cancer is no joke and the sooner you get checked out, the better. It's also a good idea to get checked more than once. And in the event that anyone contracts cancer, I suggest they get more than one doctor's opinion because one doctor's diagnosis may not always be right.

  5. Thank you so much for posting this. I appreciate personal stories & advice, and I am thrilled that the Stardoll enterprise is paying attention to this serious matter as well.

Many years ago I introduced my flatmate to my cousin. They've now been married for years & years. Last year my flatmate-turned-cousin's-wife was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. She is young, has a four year old, and has now undergone a mastectomy, radiation therapy and has just finished her first round of chemo. She is fighting hard, and remains upbeat & positive in light of a situation which frankly has scared all the rest of us. I am amzed at how she has coped, and the support of all of us helps her, as she tells us often.

So many people are & will be touched by breast cancer-- themself, a friend, a family member-- and it is imperative we find a cure. Let's hope it comes in our lifetimes.

  6. @Aislin
The bracelets aren't actually for Breast cancer but you could "Say" they are. Great way too put a good twist on a tacky bracelet Aislin.

Most likely If you asked the people why they bought the bracelet and the meaning behind it. They'll probably say "I just like it" Its trashion. Highly doubted anyone would say that " ... Because I support Breast Cancer Awareness". I honestly never thought of the bracelet in that way, don't think most have.

  8. my mom is fighting it right now but she will get better, i know it, but it's hard for her and for my entire family to get over it because after she does her treatment she feels very weak for like 4-5 days. Nobody knows about it except for me, my sister, dad and my boyfriend just because people would threat her like an ill person and she needs optimism to get over it... and yeah, she lost her hair and she is wearing a wig. She will need a plastic surgery in like 2 months for removing the tumor.
But it's gonna be all right :)

  10. Actually, most people think of it that way. Foundations have created bumper stickers that say "I heart boobies". There are also several that say things like "Save the ta tas".

I don't shop at Hot Topic, and I definitely don't buy music there anymore, considering how mainstream they've gone. So I've never actually seen the bracelets. However, if I had, I would definitely buy one, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. And I would dismiss whatever purpose they had before.
