Contemplate for a moment

I'm sure you all have heard about the earthquake that has hit Japan over the past 24 hours, the 8.9 earthquake hit the north-east side of Japan which then triggered a tsunami. At exactly 2:46pm local time (5:46am GMT) Japan was hit with a domino of deaths, injuries and losses, even though there are several dozens of people dead due to this catastrophic event sadly there's expected to be a rise in the death toll.

Tsunami waves swirl near a port in Oarai, Ibaraki Prefecture (state) after Japan was struck by a strong earthquake off its northeastern coast Friday,

Why did I make this post? I'm not sure but I feel as though we should talk about it, think about it and pray. According to Google's 'Tsunami Alert' there's going to be a train of unfortunate events in New Zealand the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Hawaii, If any of our readers are residing in those areas please take caution.

If you are interested in donating to aid earthquake survivors please visit this link for more information. Also if any of our readers have been affected by the earthquake and are in trouble Google has launched a person finder page which you can visit by clicking here.

  3. I actually cried when I saw these images on BBC news today.

I mean, it's not as though they knew. Most the people that died were probably thinking about plans that they had made...plans that will never happen.

I think to me, this was a BIG wake up call. I have so much, and although I try not to take it for granted...I am still human. But what annoyed me is that people were laughing about it. How can you laugh at the fact that hundreds have lost lives, and many more will?

All my condolences go out to everyone affected by the Earthquake and/or Tsunami.

And when you sit there complaining...don't. Think about what you have, not what you don't.

  6. @Pwincess Sara/Sara I went through a similar thing earlier today aswell, I was just thinking what if it was actually England which was the host of this terrible event. It goes to show anything can happen.

  7. I sawed about it. It's devastating and shocking. When I sawed the images, I was shocked. Came back from school, the TV was opened and (the electricity went off in the morning) and when I sawed the news, I couldn't believe it. I hope everything is going to be fine and God bless them.

@PwincessSara/Sara: I agree. We are humans and we need to love everything we have.

  8. I totally agree with all points above... This was a HUGE wake up call to me.

Life for everyone of us around is like concentrating on what we don't have and what we want... Basically never about what we actually have.
Today in class we prayed for Japan, and tonight when I go to sleep, I will pray again... Because some people did not finish their life at a point where they knew it was their time to go, this time: They had no choice.

    So wake-up call? Yes, definitely!

I am thankful for everything I have now, and I think so should everyone else!

    God bless.

  9. Thank you for this post. I left a note in Noelle's gb earlier today when I heard in the news that the tsunami was about to hit Phillipines. I hope you are all safe. It's heartbreaking to see the images and to hear the stories. We always tend to take for granted the blessings that we have and being spared in this kind of catastrophes is the biggest blessing. God protects all of those affected in all the countries hit and still to be hit and may He help all overcome the pain for those missing or dead. Our prayers are with all of you.

  11. I am am devastated! Poor Japan! :( My father had already donated a high amount of money to help, since we have..... above average money. We donate money to many causes and mostly animals! I'm not bragging! I'm just saying my family has above average money.

    Xoxo,
    Austin

  12. As I read these comments, many focused on remembering how much we actually have for which we should be grateful... it reminded me of when my house burned to the ground I lost everything. My husband, who was home at the time, was safe. And in the end, that was all that mattered.

My heart is full of hope for Japan and all other places affected by this natural disaster. I'm praying for everyone to get through this safely and together.

  13. @Nojarama:
The thing is, I don't think this will generate sympathy as much as the Haiti ordeal, simply because Japan has money. I know it's wrong for me to say that, but I think in a way, it's true.

Also, we won't even care after a month or two. I mean, look at the NZ EQ that struck Christchurch. That's already out of the news. We forget about natural disasters so quickly-but the thing is, it's scarred their lives forever. They need help, and I have to say, I myself am ashamed of the fact that I've forgotten about the natural disasters that have happened previously. Haiti's still a mess, Pakistan's people are helpless after the floods, and NZ people are still in need of help. I wonder how long it'll be until we stop thinking about the Japan EQ and Tsunami.

May God protect us all from any more calamities, and help anyone affected by the disasters.

  14. Such a horrible event with so many possibilities for future pain and destruction. Hoping and praying for all those affected or in harms way. The Pacific Rim is very active right now. The earth is not happy.

  18. They are saying in CCN just now that there is a possibility that the BIG one has yet to hit Japan. There might be stronger aftershocks.

  19. DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT THE MOVIE 2012 WILL COME TRUE???

  20. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand and well even though where I live is not that affected, we still have to boil the water and make sure when we go to the bathroom that we flush sparingly.

Its interesting how only one stardoll blog mentioned our disaster and it was not this one.. in fact it was Ghandoora the boss.

I will say that the international response to the earthquake was amazing, in only a few hours we had alot of teams from all over the world to help find those trapped in buildings.

The EQ might not of been that big compared to the japan one.. however Nz is small compared.. we only have a population of around 4 million (give or take) but it was a massive thing for us.

On another note all those in Canterbury are praying for those in Japan.. we know first hand what its like in the terror of an earthquake.

  21. Ghandoora the boss is just about Ghandoora. Funny how you advertise it here. That blog is trash.

  22. @Anon I was not "advertising" it, I was just stating that they at lease wrote about the earthquake in Christchurch.
Many blogs on stardoll totally ignored or didn't even know about it.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh yeah? But you saying that no blogs have written about it except the ghandoora trash blog when you are in fact commenting on a post that's written about it is funny don't you think?
