Tragedy in Oslo, Norway

We are but mortals, not built to live forever.
Death is a realization that shakes the bearings that hold us together. We are all born with an expiration date. No matter how or when you go, death will eventually catch up with us all.

When I come to this blog to post, I usually find myself creating an enjoyable post without much effort. Yet as I sit in front of my laptop preparing to dive into the Oslo tragedy, my fingers are shaking.

For anyone who has been following the Oslo Tragedy in Norway, you are aware of the bombing, followed by the murder of over ninety people. The lives of almost one hundred people were stripped from them when a man posing as a police officer opened fire on a political labor camp at Utoya Island. The killer, Ander Behring Breivik was said to be a part of a Christian Fundamentalist Group. His disagreement with Norway's multi-cultural society was a factor behind his decision to carry out the bombing and murder at Utoya Island. And after being arrested, he described the killing as "Gruesome but necessary". Families, friends and the rest of Norway are left to mourn the deaths of these people and make efforts to move on because of one man acting on his belief that Norway should be stripped of all non-european Norwegians.

My heart goes out to not only the families and friends of the deceased, but to Norway. World peace will never be achieved, but I truly believe that all countries should stand untied in the face of tragedy.

  1. I feel for the many teenagers and young adults in Norway, who had been brutally massacred. My heart goes out to the departed and I send condolences to all their families. It's.....shocking. July 23rd 2011 will be remembered. Always and forever x

My prayers go to them. It's really sad to see so many people who lost their lives. And what did they do? Nothing.

  3. It is sad, and that psycho should rot in hell. Just unbelivebable. Those young people were just there, trying to have fun, and that psycho shoot at them. Hope they find him soon. If they tell, God forbid, he's not guilty, his real judgement will be upstairs. He will go to hell.

    R.I.P.

  5. Thank you for posting this. My heart goes out to the families and country of Norway. As the prime minister of Norway said, "We will retaliate with more democracy, more openess, and more humanity, but never with naviety." It's great for us to get the word out and prevent attacks like this from ever happening again.
