Have you ever felt detached or otherwise removed from a situation? Whether it be intentional or not, that sense of being ignored can often times provoke an unwanted sadness. Lately, something has occurred on MDM, which caused me a great deal of sadness and frustration. I am, of course, speaking about the trial writers.

It has been reiterated many times that MDM is seen as a prestigious blog. And without trying to sound superior or snotty, I agree. Becoming a writer for MDM was a great honor, one that I took a bit too lightly at the time. But over my course of "employment"  here, I have come to love and respect this blog far more than I could have, had I never had the opportunity to write here.

In recent events, trial writers have been accepted here at MDM. This was done without my approval or opinions. And to be quite frank, I am less than pleased. A partnership works in such a way that both parties must possess a proper balance. I do not feel as if that has been achieved between Deidra and myself. I feel as if we have different visions for the blog. And while she is carrying hers out, I am tiptoeing around her ideas, and not trying to cause a fuss.

At this point, I feel a need to take a step back. Unfortunately, MDM does not feel much like a safe haven for me any longer. It has morphed into something unfamiliar, and that in itself is all too unsettling. As sad as it makes me to bow out on such a sour note, I'm not sure where to go from here.

  1. I would hate for you to leave! I frankly thing that if you left, MDM would just go downhill. Take back some of your ownership!

  2. I think this is a matter that you should discuss with Dei, not publish it on the blog to get a thousand sympathy notes.

  6. For once I actually agree with an anon... I think talking to Dei is way better than posting about it, and especially making trial writers feel bad. I know you aren't trying to cause any harm, but it appears as the trial writers may be upset that you don't fully approve of them.

  7. I actually like the trial writers... they sort of give MDM the feeling it had a year ago when post were being published daily.

Though I'm not one to talk about keep a blog active, I feel this blog need more devoted administrators... not that you two aren't good enough, your just not active enough for this "prestigious" blog.

On a lighter note, did you guys see the guy walk across the Niagara falls!

  8. Yay! I couldn't take your posts anymore. You come off like you have a stick up your ass and act like your better than everyone else. With you gone the blog will feel more relaxed and readers won't feel so overwhelmed.

  9. I can say that it's not fair if the one partner decides on their own(of course I cannot say if that really happens as I cannot read yours or Deidra's mind) but I have to agree with Lindsay. I don't like that you posted this, you should have talked in private with Dei to find a solution and let her know how you feel.
On the other hand, we have the trial writers. I don't think that they make the blog look bad, they give it pep instead. It's nice to see a post from a freshman at blogging to your dash because it makes you wanna read it and see if they are good and deserve the spot. And this will bring comments and views to the blog. For example, the violent beauty post from a trial writer was the only one I found interesting in this blog for ages.
MDM has surely lost it's glory but you can bring it back by letting other people, that are not elites or popular, to show their talent. Everyone will be interesting to get to know them and that will bring MDM it's old glory.

  11. I agree this trial writer thing is bullshit. The only writers I liked on here were the old ones and Gladis and Sofi were good but they are gone now.
writing for MDM used to be a big deal and now it's filled with shit writers like manny!
and jack gtfo because you have no talent or friends.

  12. You are an amazing writer but matters like this should not be public. Instead of posting to all 1000+ followers of MDM about it maybe talk PERSONALLY/PRIVATLY with Dei is a better idea because in this situation you seem like the bad guy for posting about it.

  13. Maybe 'shit writers' like me could get better by trial writing on MDM...

  14. "pardon me", but it just seems like you don't want any new talent here on MDM. This is just my opinion afterall, you know. Diedra is trying to give some new writers some time to show what they have to say to everyone, something in my opinion that you wouldn't do. I wouldn't have told everyone I was leaving just because of it either, but that was your choice and there is nothing to do about it.

Guys don't be rude to her, I can tell she is annoyed with my decision but you don't have a right to judge hers either.
