Rate Our Writers! - Writer #4(Pride)

Here is the 4th installment of 'Rate Our Writers'!

- - -

(This will be posted in the next posts I put about the writers.)
We have all of our writers a topic based on the theme we picked which was '7 Deadly Sins on Stardoll' where we relate occurrences on Stardoll on a particular deadly sin. And each writer gets 'Stardoll sin' to write on, and they had full control on how they wrote it out, they chose their own length, writing style, and how they wanted to address it. And what I post here is completely unedited as well, so please address any issues or likes of the article in the comments below!

And each post listed is completely untouched, unedited, and ready to be reviewed by the readers.

The
sin we gave to writer #4 is 'Pride', the most infamous sin to me, where a person thinks way too highly of themselves and treats others as lesser beings rather than fellow human beings.
- - -

On a tall golden chair sits a Goddess, covered in peacock plumes with a grin as strong as swooshing winds. Her eyes, simple, yet charmed. She has a look that we would normally label “I’m better than you!” which is what she clearly thinks. With her head up high and hands clutched in a successful position, she is seen as a fulsome Madame. She is praised as none other than the arrogant prideful Hera, thinking her herself, is the best. Beside her lays the Goddess of Beauty and Love, Aphrodite; not a humble world would ever slip out of her mouth as she is too busy braiding her hair and explaining to her followers how beautiful she is. Self-indulging at the most, this goddess would rather die than be ugly, deeming her a cocky number as well. These two go hand in hand whenever walking through the gardens of conceit. They do indeed reflect the true and gruesome enigma of pride.

Pride is better described as the mother sin (the most severe) giving birth to many of the others which include Vanity, envy, etc. It is notoriously described as thinking you’re better than everyone else, a sick desire to be more important and attractive than those around you, failing to see their good side, but rather only eying your own. Several symbols bring pride itself to life. A very well-known and highly recognized representation can be molded into a mirror, which clearly shows you are too busy gazing at what you think is a beautiful being (you), rather than recognizing others whom surround you…

This being said, such an aspect would never hit our beloved Stardoll community, right? More or less, we are too busy designing wigs and buying LE to even pause and think that Pride would play a ludicrous part in our Dollywood. Sadly, that is not the case. With upcoming competitions and features such as Cover girl, some users exploit this opportunity to gloat and make a spectacle thinking they are better than others for winning such superficial challenges. It certainly isn’t living up to the expectations of being a modest pod, and portrays this heavy sin greatly. Even owning material goods pushes someone to uncover their humble layer and boast about their achievements, fame, and appearance. People like Perilice2 or even Ceren.gk former winners of MSW seem to be basking in their glory, a tad bit too much and even own self-created/administrated fan-clubs. Several awards such as top designer help numerous users beam with popularity, but with popularity comes the deep and hurling feeling of pride. It might not happen to ever Stardoll User as we must remember the self-effacing ones, but it comes sooner or later, and stings you with egotism. Various scenarios clearly paint Pride in the Stardoll Canvas, what we think is a masterpiece.

(Self Explanatory)
Laced with a layer of haughtiness, Pride can be found anywhere. From the ancient mythological paths of Goddesses to the profound impact on our Stardoll community, it interlaces itself in our souls wherever we are bound to be. It seems that every opportunity we receive where we are claimed stars and reach a success, this heavy sin -more fit for a Dystopia- is trying to take control of us, as if our souls are merely fighter jets in the blue sky. Can we allow such a thing to happen?

Certainly not. It is not only a form of a bad persona, but it leads others to not befriend you because they’d rather not be around those too busy fiddling with their parsimonious self-worth to take the time to recognize the greater good around them. Take the time to evaluate yourself, do not let Pride control you. Remember, it may seem like a propaganda for a gateway to hell, or (for the non-religious) misfortune and grief, but it can be controlled with such a thing as a healthy conscious.

  8. I really liked the post despite a few misspelled words. I think a lot of these bloggers are trying a little harder than they usually would, using fancy vocabulary and all. I have to admit I had to re-read a couple sentences for it to make sense.

  9. A couple of these people are trying a bit too hard. There is a such thing as over-complicating a post, and when you have people saying they went back to read certain sentences because they couldn't understand them, then there's certainly an issue.

When I review their writing, I'm not looking for the person who can go to thesaurus and add a bunch of unnecessarily long words to every sentence. They don't have to prove their intelligence to us, just keep our attention and make it entertaining. If every blogger on MDM writes like that, I imagine it would be very boring.

  10. We chose people based on the fact they don't write like this: "OMG!! stardoll is soo dum. they didnt let me by my items!!'

It just sounds like if someone is smart it bores you. While I would rather keep the smarties than get a load of dumbasses who type like they are a chicken with its head cut off.

And quite frankly, this writer who wrote this article is anything but a try hard. So I wish you would stop judging them because they choose to not write like an imbecile.

  12. @ Lovegossip4life: You cant say I j'adore. Because the j already means "I". So basically you just said I especially I loved....

  13. I don't know who you're referring to, but I said that the writer is "trying a little harder than usual" not a try hard. I respect that they aren't an idiot, but I can't picture this writer posting all their posts like this.

    Nonetheless, I liked it.

  18. About writer #2:
This writer is the best out of all 4 posted so far. He/she doesn't try to wow us with their great knowledge of vocabulary, yet they still sound smart and sophisticated. They managed to get out attention and I actually enjoyed this.
I think the only writers you should hire are 2 and 4. Writer #1 seems really young, and just not right for MDM. Writer 2 - my favorite, writer #3 was boring and irrelavant. I enjoyed the 4th writer's style, but I just wish the would elaborate more on how pride and vanity is found on Stardoll. I don't think we saw their full potential in that particular post.
-Somebody who once really loved MDM, and hopes to do so again.

  22. lovegossip4life - "I especially j'adored" doesn't make sense. A) you are saying "I especially I adored" and B) "J'adorED" doesn't exist in French.

    STOP TRYING TO SPEAK FRENCH.

  23. I'm so tired of reading this shit. I've held my tongue for so fucking long, thinking it would be worth it. It's not worth it. You pricks are never satisfied. It's like you're looking for a reason to complain.

Either the writers are too terrible or too smart. Their grammar is too bad or too perfect. The posts are too long and too boring. People are trying too hard and Dei and I aren't trying hard enough.

Well you know what? Fuck you. We work our asses off trying to satisfy you people. And for what? For you to come here and comment about your endless list of complaints. And before you say we can't take criticism, we can. And I welcome it. But when you constantly show up here with a stick up your ass, ready to deem all of our work as shit, it makes me want to rip that stick from your ass and shove it down your throat.

  24. ^^^^ Coming from a 20-something year old who works as a bombjob chef, who wants to be a famous author, but is too fucking occupied with a dressup game to go chase her dreams.

  25. .... ^

coming from a total douchebag who can't even voice their opinion on their main account because they fear they will be ridiculed.

If you have something to say, why the hell won't you say it to their faces?

  26. I love, love, loved it!
The story in the beginning was great! Although I can't say I wouldn't change a thing if I had the chance to edit this myself, I enjoyed it for what it was worth while reading. The way he/she attacked this topic is so attune with what I would hope a writer would do that I'm willing to ignore some little grammatical things here and there.

I would have to say that this writer is my favorite. He/she managed to bring his/her obviously lighthearted personality and imagination to the blog. I thoroughly enjoyed it, simply because it wasn't so dang serious! Linking the seven deadly sins to Stardoll (I'm sorry Dei & Aislin) was simply ridiculous; you cannot compare the effects of lust, gluttony, greed, envy, & all the other sins in a virtual website to their effects in the real world. Laundering money, killing people, stealing thousands upon thousands of dollars in goods from good peoples' homes--it just doesn't compare to hacking, scamming, or being rude to someone on Stadoll. Those sins are definitely taking their root in the kids playing on Stardoll, and these actions still aren't right, but I can't imagine a 9-year-old girl having the self-awareness to take responsibility for her actions and know she is sinning. Therefore, you really can't even call it a sin, much less a deadly sin.

Keeping that in mind, the writer needed to lightly sprinkle a dose of reality onto their musings. Did they need to compare kids being overly sexual to Stardoll when there are so many other factors contributing to that? No, probably not. This was the perfect balance of going overboard and spending too little time thinking about the topic. I loved it. I'm sure this person will be my favorite writer on MDM. In fact, I think I might know who wrote this because I'm so familiar and in love with his/her writing style.

Good job, good luck, and Dei and Aislin, you better keep this person!

  27. Anon:

What a cute comment. But I think you are mistaken-as a couple of your remarks are false. I'm assuming by 'bombjob' you mean dead end job. And I suppose to an extent you are correct. Nevertheless, my 'bombjob' pays my bills and will set me up for a great future in the culinary industry. I am quite lucky to have a job considering the current state of America's job market. Much less a job that allows me to build skills that will help me better myself.

And when have I ever mentioned the desire to be a famous author? The simple fact that I enjoy writing as a hobby, and I once sought to have a bit of my work published does not entail that I yearn to be an author, much less a famous author. Though I am sorry that you clearly misunderstood.

Nothing, especially not Stardoll has ever stood in the way of me achieving my career goals. I've been working my ass of since before I graduated high school to get where I am today. I'm in a place that many people my age would be damn proud to be in. But you clearly have no idea who I am outside of this blog and Stardoll.

You might let this 'world' affect you in real life, but once I close this laptop, you, along with every other anon who thinks they have a set of balls, mean nothing to me.
